was created to identify age-friendly goals and objectives based on our Planning Phase (May 2015 – May 2017)
aims to incorporate actions throughout Sarasota County that were already underway or will be implemented in our Implementation Phase (June 2017 – May 2020)
The Action Plan represents a synthesis of research findings based on the input of nearly 1,200 Sarasota County residents aged 50-plus.
These residents participated in either focus groups or survey research in 2015 and expressed their perspectives and preferences regarding important community features.
The research findings were then shared throughout the community with stakeholders across all 8 domains of livability and across the following five sectors: people, business, organizations, government, and media.
Annual progress reports about the Age-Friendly Sarasota Action Plan will be posted on this webpage. If you have questions regarding the Action Plan, please contact Dr. Kathy Black, Senior Age-Friendly Advisor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
