TPF and AFS Share with a Hearty “Hear Ye! Hear Ye!”

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! is a call for attention by a Town Crier. According to the Harpers Collins English dictionary, Town Criers are people who formerly cried public announcements through the streets of a village or town and were the original news people. In 1949, the husband of Dorothy Patterson (who left her estate to The Patterson Foundation), Jim Patterson, began working as a reporter for the Washington bureau of The Daily News. This link between a Town Crier and newsperson continues today at The Patterson Foundation (TPF) and Age-Friendly Sarasota (AFS) through the very popular Speakers Bureau.

Does your organization need a speaker with a unique message about the community? Do you want your organization to learn more about Age-Friendly Sarasota or get a behind the scenes peek at the Age-Friendly Festival? It’s easy, simply visit agefriendlysarasota.org and complete an AFS Speakers Bureau Request Form.

The Age-Friendly Festival is a gift from TPF celebrating an exceptional community – #ForAllAges. This free festival is Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Sarasota Fairgrounds and will have interactive experiences, exhibits, entertainment, and informative, educational panels. There will also be food trucks, games, and fun for the entire family.

TPF and AFS are excited to share this meaningful festival and would love the opportunity to provide the latest news on the Age-Friendly Movement and Festival through the Speakers Bureau. Let TPF and Age-Friendly Sarasota fulfill your organization’s need for a speaker by responding to the call of “Hear Ye! Hear Ye!” today.
