The goal of the World Health Organization (WHO) is to build a better, healthier future for people all over the world. Working through offices in more than 150 countries, WHO staff work side by side with governments and other partners to ensure the highest attainable level of health for all people.
The WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities was established in 2010 to connect cities, communities, and organizations worldwide with the common vision of making their community a great place to grow old in. It is coordinated by the Department of Ageing and Life Course at WHO headquarters, in collaboration with the six WHO regional offices and the country offices in WHO member states.
