Since 2015, the Age-Friendly Sarasota initiative has been a partnership between local, state, national, and international entities contributing their expertise and resources to evolve age-friendly concepts and community features in Sarasota County and beyond.
Age-Friendly Sarasota was founded by the collaborative contributions of these organizations: AARP Florida, Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Florida Policy Exchange Center on Aging, Sarasota County Government, The Patterson Foundation, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, and the World Health Organization.
Age-Friendly Sarasota is currently being advanced locally by Sarasota County Government.
State and national efforts continue with the ongoing work of AARP, Department of Elder Affairs, Florida Department of Health, and the World Health Organization.
